Sunshine
Sunshine is a sci-fi film, that much to my disappointment, only came out in limited release in theaters. I was unable to go see it when it came out since it wasn’t playing in a theater near me. The premise of the movie is that the sun is dying and the only way for Earth to survive is to detonate some kind of bomb in the sun. The ship and crew that the movie follows is actually the second ship that is being sent after the first one failed for unknown reasons seven years ago. The second ship is also probably the last hope since there wouldn’t be enough time or resources to try again. It is a very interesting film and had me up until close to the end when this movie turned into a horror flick. I was disappointed that it took that turn. I think they could have had a similar outcome without the horror storyline. Overall it was a good movie and it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t released in all theaters because I think it would have been a really good movie to see in a theater.
Over 75% of critics on RottenTomatoes recommended Sunshine and I would give it a score of 8.
