National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets

National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets is a sequel of the movie by the same name. I enjoyed the first movie and had high expectations for this second installment. Even though the same cast was back and the visual effects were good, I found the story lacking compared to the first one. The premise wasn’t that interesting. In the first movie, what had my attention, was all the clues and how they followed them to get to the treasure. This time there just wasn’t that many clues and they weren’t stimulating. Another part of the movie that bothered me was the bad guy wasn’t all that bad and in the end he kind of became good which was a little bit sappy.

About 31% of critics on RottenTomatoes recommended this installment of National Treasure and I would give it a score of 6, because it will probably make a decent movie rental, but I am being generous.

  1. I wondered about this one. It seems like sequels never live up to originals. I’ll rent it sometime and let you know what I think of it.
