Stomp the Yard
Stomp the Yard looked like it would be a good dance movie and I must admit that the dance sequences in the beginning and at the end of the movie were quite good. Stomp the Yard reminded me of Drumline. The storylines were very similar in many ways. But unlike Drumline, somewhere in the middle of the movie, Stomp the Yard starts to lose steam. The story drags a little and does not hold your interest. I think this movie could have been a whole lot better than what it was.
Only 27% of the critics on RottenTomatoes recommended this movie. Given the choice I would recommend Drumline over this movie. I give Stomp the Yard a score of 5.
The stuff these guys do is pretty awesome. We had stomp in my high school (it was 40% black) and those guys were neat. This movie tho blew them out of the water. Stomp is not Dance. SO I can see how you might have been disappointed.
